French Library and Cultural Center is established.

Originally the French Library in Boston, it begins as a one-room lending library at 10 Arlington Street. Incorporated in 1946, it grows to contain the second largest private collection of French literature in the U.S. and moves to its current location at 53 Marlborough Street in 1961. The building is owned by Fisher College today.
